Smart Thermostat
This is one of the best quality of life upgrades to get in an old condo, especially to make it more attractive for selling and renting.Â
A smart thermostat allows you to control the temperature of your unit from your phone. It's also got additional features such as scheduling and optimizing for energy savings.
Installing these requires replacing the old Honeywell thermostats, which are larger than the Google Nest (and other smart thermostats like Ecobee), so doing this correctly requires some drywall patching and paint touch-ups. If you don't have the original paint or don't know the exact colour, a small sample of the existing paint can be removed to put in a scanner that will determine the exact colour code, after which the exact paint colour can be purchased at stores like Canadian Tire. This job done properly takes two days in order for the drywall to cure overnight.
